I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
