A 15-year-old youth has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a base term of 16 years for the murder of another pupil the deceased during a lunch break.
Mohammed Umar Khan stabbed the victim, also aged fifteen, into the chest with a large blade at Sheffield's educational institution in the winter month.
The presiding justice lifted the name suppression limitation on the perpetrator during the punishment phase at the courthouse.
Harvey's mother stated she felt "like a large load has been removed off my person" following the sentencing.
The pair of youths had previously disputed over social media in the time prior to the fatal event.
Mrs Willgoose stated she was pleased the base duration had been determined above the statutory minimum of 15 years.
"My parent has been undergoing cancer therapy through the court proceedings and he just couldn't hold on any further," she expressed.
Before the murder on the third of February, the defendant and the deceased had taken different sides in a separate disagreement between additional students.
Security footage from the day of the stabbing revealed the perpetrator moving toward the deceased in the courtyard soon after midday.
Bystanders described a environment of "confusion", with individuals "fleeing, yelling all around" during the brutal encounter.
Throughout the legal proceedings, the defendant claimed he had not intended to kill the deceased or cause him grave injury, claiming he could not remember what had happened.
The prosecution countered that he had "intended to show he was tough" and "knew exactly what he was performing".
"You served as the provoker and... you behaved in pain and anger at what you viewed to be his betrayal of your bond," pronounced the court official during the judgment.
The educational institution published a statement stating that the pupil was "greatly remembered every daytime by the complete educational community".
Law enforcement highlighted the tragic outcomes of bearing weapons, noting that a "momentary choice" can irreversibly alter various existences.
